Thank you John Ebron!!! – He gave me a HUGE shout out on his YouTube channel during an inspirational ‘Leading Thought’ video “Noooooovember – Prioritizing Your Emotional Health.” (video at bottom to watch and share) John is client & friend, but also a great coach who inspires people to do better in their personal & professional lives.
What is John talking about with #Nooovember?
The entire month of November is dedicated to quieting the people-pleaser residing deep within us.
It is often so much easier to say “YES” than “NO”. The downside is we don’t realize everything we’ve said “YES” to until the “YES” pile is so high it starts creating stress and inefficiency. Learning how to say “NO” is necessary for the health of personal self and professional self.
I know it’s not just us photographers or entrepreneurs who get overwhelmed and over-committed; it’s also moms, dads, teachers, doctors,… this list could go on and on. There is alot to do from day-to-day and month-to-month (laundry, cleaning, cooking, exercise, health, doctor visits, friendships, family, hobbies, quality time with partner, sleep, everything associated with a job/business). Then we add more items to the list by saying yes when other people ask us to do stuff – either because we want to help or we just don’t know how to say “No”.
Juggling all those commitment balls in the air is not always easy. Unfortunately, juggling too many balls means that one (or more) WILL DROP. And the reality is, it may be the WRONG ball.
Thank you John for the wonderful and inspiring video. You emphasized what #Nooovember is all about… (The way you say Noooooovember brings a joyful smile to my face).
Say YES to things that replenish our emotional gas tank. Say no to things that are running us dry and aren’t really that important. Give it a try. Declare the month of November #Nooovember and really focus on the things that are directly related to empowering your emotional and mental health – for both your personal & professional life.
By not committing to anything extra this #Nooovember, how are YOU going to spend all that extra time?
