Magazine Photos in Condé Nast Traveler of Bulgaria by Maryann Davidson

This is sort of an anniversary for me…. 25 years ago (June 1st), I sold my first photograph to a local newspaper. This morning, 25 years later to the day (June 1st), I woke to magazine photos in Condé Nast Traveler – I am excited because one of them is a full page.

If you have a dream, work hard to open the doors that are closed, and never give up! There’s a reason passion exists!!!

A little bit about both photos….

  • Giant chupa chups advertisment on house wall in Sofia, Bulgaria. The famous Spanish painter Salvador Dali designed the Chupa Chups lollipop logo.
  • Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila, better known as the Rila Monastery, is one of the most famous Bulgarian symbols. Not only is it the biggest monastery in Bulgaria, it is also the most influential spiritual centre in the country and the second biggest monastery on the Balkan Peninsula.

Wikipedia has an interesting and detailed account of Condé Nast, the mass media company. It was founded in 1909 by Condé Montrose Nast. The company attracts more than 164 million consumers across its 20 brands and mediums. I was amazed to learn that their empire includes Reddit, Vanity Fair, and Vogue.
