Sometimes I like to challenge myself with a photoshoot – I have a jar on my desk with photoshoot ideas. Today, the slip of paper I pulled was Landscape Photography. I drove around several hours, and even went on a 5 mile hike in the cold, specifically looking for a landscape that I wanted to photograph. I guess I had the vision of something like the snow-topped mountains and river canyons of Colorado or the majestic wilderness of Alaska, so I set my mind up for something that is not easily found in downtown Atlanta.
Feeling a little defeated, I had decided to skip the challenge. But on the way home from a meeting today I made a wrong turn. By doing so, I ended up driving past this cemetery. Though this is not the typical location for landscape photography, and even though the rain was pouring down, I had to get out and take a few pictures.
