Thank You For The Kind Gift LMK Foundation and Laura Bowman from Maryann Davidson Photography

Gary, president of the Laona M Kitchen Foundation, presented me with an original painting by Laura Bowman as a gift “in recognition of outstanding work as a volunteer for the LMK Foundation and for being a dedicated volunteer over the past couple of years.”

During the last LMK fundraiser, (Casino Night and  Auction) I had lost a bid for one of Laura’s paintings. Gary, having previously been inspired by my bucketlist, knew that I wanted to own an original piece of art. He went to the LMK board and proposed the idea of a gift, then reached out to Laura to commission a painting.

Thank you Gary and the entire LMK board. I was completely overwhelmed by your generosity and the thought behind the gift. Also thank you to Laura Bowman for the weeks you spent painting something special just for me. It looks beautiful in my living room!

The irony . . . I stopped by the LMK office to give Gary a gift for his new house  – a framed landscape picture. (First time I framed a photograph myself – cut the glass, mat, and frame). We joked that it was a picture swap 🙂

I am so honored to be a volunteer for the LMK Foundation. The Laona M. Kitchen Foundation was founded to honor mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Laona Kitchen, who battled Alzheimer’s disease. The foundation works to assist families who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
